Who Are We?

Profectus Chamber Choir Inc. is a non-profit choral organization dedicated to bringing high-quality choral and vocal music to Southern California. We perform vocal music from early Renaissance to contemporary a cappella and everything in between. Most of us met singing in the Mt. San Antonio College Chamber Choir and wanted to continue the tradition; hence our name, which means “a journey” or “continuation.”

Our Seasons

Profectus divides its year into 3 distinct seasons: Spring, Summer and Holiday.

In the spring, a few core members begin weekly rehearsals to read through new music and record demo tracks. This is also the time that we reach out to organizations and individuals who have an interest in auditioning or collaborating with us.

Our summer season has the largest scale of the seasons and is the idea upon which the choir was founded. After we select our new members, Profectus begins its rigorous rehearsals, meeting twice a week for three months to perfect a full set of complex and challenging choral music. This season culminates in multiple concerts in August at various chapels throughout Southern California, most of which are free or free-will donation.

We close out the year with our holiday caroling season which acts as our primary means of fundraising. Rehearsals begin as early as October to prepare our holiday caroling quartets which, come December, will be hired out to perform at company holiday events, private Christmas parties, tree lighting ceremonies, and many more!
